We are now fully staffed for 2010 marking. If you are interested in being part of the DCS marking team for 2011, please check back in December 2010.
Markers are the life-blood of any quality UFE education program. Densmore Consulting Services (DCS) contracted with over 200 markers in 2009. As we continue to grow so does our need for qualified markers.
DCS is actively seeking UFE trained markers, markers with good Institute marking experience and a limited number of markers with no previous experience but a positive attitude and a desire to assist candidates. We especially encourage graduates of our courses to apply for a marking position.
On-Site Marking for First or Second Year Markers | $300 / day |
Remote Marking + On-Site Markers with More Than Two Years' Experience Comprehensive Simulations Non-comprehensive Simulations | $60 / comp + 5% admin fee + $60 prep fee $25 / non-comp + 5% admin fee + $25 prep fee |
All markers (both new and returning) will be required to attend one of the marker training sessions before marking for DCS in 2010. Marker training sessions will be held on the following dates:
Toronto - Sat, March 13, 9 am - 1 pm (9 am - 6 pm for 1st or 2nd yr markers)
Vancouver - Sat, July 10, 9 am - 1 pm (9 am - 6 pm for 1st or 2nd yr markers)
Calgary - Sun, July 11, 9 am - 1 pm (9 am - 6 pm for 1st or 2nd yr markers)
All experienced and UFE markers will be paid a flat fee of $150 for the 9 am - 1 pm marker training session. All first or second year markers will be paid a flat fee of $300 for the 9 am - 6 pm marker training session. (Lunch will be provided for all markers.)
If you are an experienced marker and are unable to attend one of the on-site marker training sessions, you will need to contact Kathy to make alternative arrangements.
All markers have the choice of marking on-site or remotely after they have attended one of the marker training sessions. First or second year markers who are marking on-site will be paid a flat daily fee based on the on-site scale noted above. All remote markers or on-site markers with more than two years' experience will be paid based on the scale noted above. The prep fee is a one-time fee paid the first time you mark a particular simulation equal to the marking fee for one additional paper (i.e., $60 for a comp, $25 for a non-comp)
All DCS marking in 2010 will be electronic. For on-site marking, you will need to provide your own laptop.
The turnaround times for remote marking have been provided. Before committing to mark remotely for a specific date, you will have an opportunity to indicate the maximum number of papers you are willing to mark. Please note that the specific number of papers that you are assigned to mark may be less than the maximum you are willing to mark.
All Toronto marking for the March to June time period will be based on School of Accountancy (SOA) style evaluation guides. In order to apply to mark for those dates, you need to have experience with this marking style or have attended SOA.
Continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments are provided for all of our on-site marking centres. For markers who are invited to travel from out of town to mark for us, travel costs must be approved in advance before reimbursement will be given.
Please note that an application to mark on specific dates does not necessarily mean that we will be able to use you on those dates. Those who are able to mark the same simulation for more than one marking date will be given first preference. Once those markers have been allocated, we will determine our marking needs for the remaining dates and notify markers who have indicated an interest in those dates. If your situation changes and you are able to mark additional dates, please let us know as quickly as possible.
We will confirm the March to June marking dates in February 2009. The July and August marking dates will be confirmed in May 2009. All other information will be sent out approximately two weeks prior to your first marking center date. If you have not received any information from us and it is within a week of your first marking date, please contact Kathy.
Please notify Kathy if your mailing address, phone numbers or e-mail address changes.
